An excellent choice for students at every level of experience and ability. In their private lessons, students experience an encouraging learning environment where individual abilities and preferences are developed through exciting literature, motivational rewards, positive performance experiences, and the best in pedagogical approaches.
Teachers accommodate private students at their own individual pace and create a program of study that best suits each student’s interests, abilities and goals. Close communication between studio and home keeps parents involved and assists them in being supportive partners at home, thereby helping to ensure maximum success for each student. Thirty- and sixty minute weekly lesson options are available.
Beginning students will learn in their music lessons proper instrument handling, fingerings for Trumpet – positions for Trombone, how to read music, major and minor scales and listening skills. Advanced students will review all of the above along with technical exercises, performance presentation and listening skills.
The student will receive one on one instruction designed around Mr. Dinkins’ total percussion experience. Students (usually Grade school age) will begin on Snare Drum learning how to read music and perform the 40 Standard American Rudiments.

Advanced students will learn musical styles, develop listening and play-along skills, major and minor scales along with relatives, improvisation and other ideas.
Beginning students will learn proper fingering, how to read music, fun melodies, songs, solo and group performance skills. Advanced students will learn musical styles, chords, improvisation and other ideas.

The student will receive one on one instruction, learning techniques and curriculum for children and adults designed around the individual student’s ability. Beginning students will learn proper vocal control, how to read music, major and minor scales and listening skills. Intermediate and advanced students will learn musical styles, develop listening and sing-along skills, major and minor scales along with relatives, improvisation and other ideas designed around the students interest and practice habits.
Beginning students will learn proper fingering, how to read music, proper instrument handling. Advanced students will review all of the above skills along with technical exercises, performance presentation and listening skills.
There are four levels a student can attain as a part of the DDC School of Music Program. These levels are: bronze, silver, gold and platinum.
